the Impact we create together

Celebrate the night. Change a child’s life.

Across Western Australia, too many children’s lives are shaped not by their potential, but by their access to opportunity.
Children living with disability, illness, or disadvantage - whose families are doing everything they can - still face a gap between what is needed and what is available. A gap that is real, and consequential. within their means, but for whom the distance between what is needed and what is available remains real, and consequential.
That gap does not close on its own. It closes because communities decide, collectively, that it should - and then do something about it.

For more than four decades, the Variety WA Ball has been one of the most enduring expressions of that decision in Western Australia. Not simply a fundraising event, but an annual act of collective commitment to children who need practical support to access the life they deserve.

Who the Variety Ball Supports

Variety WA supports children across Western Australia whose access to the everyday moments of childhood - a school excursion, a community activity, the equipment needed to participate - is not guaranteed.

Children living with disability, illness or disadvantage, whose families are doing everything they can, but who still require practical support to access the opportunities many others take for granted.

The need is not abstract. It is present in the child who cannot reach therapy without accessible transport. In the young person whose potential is clear, but whose path forward is shaped by circumstances beyond their control. In the family who has exhausted every option, and finds support at precisely the moment it is needed most.

The Variety Sunshine Coach

For many children across Western Australia living with disability or experiencing disadvantage, access to everyday experiences — a school excursion, a therapy session, a community outing — is not guaranteed. Without reliable, accessible transport, it can be out of reach entirely.

A Variety Sunshine Coach changes that -  immediately, and for years to come.

These purpose-built, fully accessible minibuses are delivered directly to schools and organisations, becoming part of the fabric of daily life. Each coach supports hundreds of children, year after year - making possible school camps, sports days, community outings and the moments of childhood that should never be out of reach.
