For 15 years, Variety WA’s Motor Mouth Camp has helped children with complex communication needs build confidence, connection and independence through immersive, real-world experiences. Supporting children who use AAC technology, alongside their families and carers, the program creates a safe and inclusive environment where communication is celebrated and every child has the opportunity to be heard.

Since launching in 2011, the three-day camp has supported almost 200 Western Australian children and their families, alongside hundreds of volunteers dedicated to helping children communicate more confidently in everyday life. More than traditional therapy, Motor Mouth Camp focuses on building communication through connection, friendship and shared experiences, empowering children and families to feel understood, supported and less alone.
